Telling Albany the State We're In
With over half a million young people leaving upstate New York over the last several years, business leaders in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton banded together to send a message to state legislators that something had to be done to change the region’s economic fortunes. A massive PR program was developed under the theme: “We want our economy moving, not our people.” Armed with moving boxes as a visual aid, a team of advocates piled into moving vans for a road show that stopped in each of the major cities in upstate New York. The resulting press coverage was felt immediately, as a bill was passed to address one of the issues for which the coalition had been advocating. |
