Sharon Linstedt spent 23 years as a reporter at The Buffalo News, before getting into PR – “the other side of the coin” – at Travers Collins in 2009. Sharon was one of the News’ most accomplished reporters, earning awards from The Associated Press, Society of Business Editors and Writers, and the New York State Bar Association. Today, she puts her writing skills and inquisitive nature to good use for clients such as Phillips Lytle LLP and the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. While a student at the University of Wisconsin, Sharon originally intended to become a lawyer until a journalism class set her in a different direction.
Sharon is an accomplished athlete, having completed several triathlons and more than 30 marathons. She loves Cheap Trick (having lived next door to the band’s guitarist, Rick Nielsen!), and is a voracious reader. “If the New York Times is not on my doorstep on Sunday mornings, it gets ugly,” she said. Sharon and her daughter, Kitty, live in Buffalo, with their Jack Russell terriers, Angus and Bella. Her daughter, Maggie, graduated in May from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR.
