City of Buffalo Police Recruitment
The City of Buffalo engaged Travers Collins & Company to launch an aggressive new police recruitment campaign designed to generate interest and educate potential recruits about the professional and personal benefits of choosing a career with the Buffalo Police Department. The objectives for creating the website were to use an interactive marketing tool to increase awareness of the January 13th exam, develop an innovative and easier way for interested candidates to retrieve test information and increase the number of applicants who took the exam in 1999. This URL became the most integral piece of the marketing campaign. It allowed interested citizens to easily obtain information about the test, be introduced to the excellent benefits offered to members on the force and most importantly, download the application to take the test. Web results: over 8,700 APPLICATION downloads; over 30,000 SITE visits; in the first week of the launch- the site saw an astounding 25,000+ visits and 7,000 applications downloads. The Take the Test Campaign was recently awarded the Platinum/ Best of Show award at the 2007 Public Relations Society of America's Excalibur Awards.
